So after months of co-ordination and planning I've just submitted our Dilly Arts HLF bid for a really exciting project working with the contemporary prison communities of HMP Frankland, HMP YOI Low Newton and HMP Durham to learn about the heritage, social history and culture of the first purpose built English prison – Hexham Old Gaol and the people who lived within its walls and the surrounding landscapes during the times of the Border Reivers. The project has many beneficial educational and social outputs including the production of a lasting legacy of exciting digital exhibitions for the museum – fingers crossed! …. Phew, I'm now off to enjoy our wedding party and honeymoon with Graeme (Ally)
