Artist Yvette Ja has made this beautiful little film of the books she taught our participants to make in our CompassionART Covid~19 online session yesterday. Our participants really enjoyed the session with Yvette’s wonderful experience and knowledge. I can’t wait for the next 5 sessions! Huge thanks to Yvette for being part of our project and bringing the opportunity of paper art and origami to our participants.

Most of our sessions are now full, but please do still follow the links below if you’re interested as we will happily add your name to our waiting lists if the sessions you want to participate in are full. We still have spaces in the singing sessions as these can accommodate larger numbers, thanks ally 🌸🙏🌸

Please head to compassionart.org.uk to find out about the new sessions.

The CompassionART website for 2020 is now available. 24 new sessions incorporating paper-art, singing, up-cycled art, and yoga. Funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund has allowed us to offer these workshops free of charge. All of the sessions will be delivered online through Zoom.

CompassionArt is a project launched in 2018, working with people in and around the rural area of Hexham, Northumberland who are living with long-term chronic illness which prevents them from working, and has a major impact on their daily lives.

Please head to compassionart.org.uk to find out about the new sessions.

Today we received the wonderful news that Dilly Arts has been awarded £9998 from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund to deliver on~line creative sessions for our ongoing CompassionART project. Our participants are all living with long~term chronic illness and this means that the vast majority are high risk and shielding. I’m now working really hard to try to get the sessions up and running ASAP and today I’ve already held discussions with a number of artists who’ll be leading the sessions. Please watch this space for more news including the opening of our on~line booking form.

We are incredibly grateful for this funding and would like to extend our huge thanks to the Coronavirus Community Support Fund and the staff at the National Lottery Community Fund who are administering the grants!

Our page has received a negative review from a person called Uel Pyper. This review is fake and has been reported to Facebook. Uel Pyper is unknown to Dilly Arts has never participated in any of our work and has had nothing to do with our organisation. Really disappointing that someone would leave destructive and malicious feedback; however having looked into this, this person has done this to many organisations and businesses without experience of their services or work. Please be assured that the review of Uel Pyper DOES NOT reflect our organisation or our work. Thanks 🌸💗🌸 ...

Shared on behalf of my friend dancer and choreographer Helen Stirland:

“Please forward to artists eligible to apply for the Charlotte Grant Early Years award. I worked with Charlotte for many years, this is something that was close to her heart and this opportunity with Dance City will benefit an emerging artist.

Dance City is seeking applications from dance artists/companies from across the North East to apply for our annual Commission programme which will support up to 8 artists/companies to develop new dance work from an overall budget of up to £24,000.

There are 3 commission strands available:

Full Production
Early Stage Production
Charlotte Grant Early Career Artist Award
We recommend that you read the guidance carefully to ensure you select the most appropriate strand for your work.

Deadline for submissions Thursday 28 November.”
