Building upon years of experience delivering arts development programmes in our North East prisons, Dilly Arts will be working with Open Clasp Theatre Company in HMP YOI Low Newton women's prison between January and May 2014. the project will culminate in a creative first for the North East: Saturday 7th June 2014 will see a unique opportunity to witness the stories of female prisoners from Durham's HMP YOI Low Newton prison at Live Theatre, Newcastle upon Tyne. Devised working with women prisoners between January and May 2014, this evening will take you on an honest, raw and gritty journey through the eyes of the women as they tell their individual stories. This performance will be acted on the women prisoners' behalf by professional actors and will be the final performance following a tour to the male prisons of the North East. The evening's performance will be filmed to be taken back into HMP YOI Low Newton to be shown to the women. Dilly Arts will then commence the last phase of this project; working with the women prisoners to extend this work into a short film.
